Introduction

SG Next Bus (“we”, “our”, “us”) provides public transport arrival information for users in Singapore.
This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, why we collect it, how we use it, and the choices you have.

1. Information We Collect

  • Location Data (Required) — With your permission we access your device location to show nearby bus stops and arrival times. Location data is used temporarily to fetch nearby information and is not uploaded to our servers unless you explicitly enable a feature that requires it.
  • Favorites & Settings — Things like bookmarked bus stops and app preferences are stored locally on your device using SharedPreferences (Android) / local storage (iOS). This data does not leave your device.
  • Analytics & Ads — We use Google AdMob to serve ads. AdMob may collect device identifiers and non-personal information to deliver and measure ads. See Google’s privacy policy: https://policies.google.com/privacy.
  • Third-party data — Bus arrival and service data are retrieved from the LTA DataMall API. We do not store LTA data beyond caching for performance unless stated otherwise in the app.

2. How We Use Information

  • To display nearby bus stops and live arrival times.
  • To remember your favorites and app preferences locally.
  • To display ads via Google AdMob and improve the app experience.
  • To analyze and improve app performance (aggregate analytics).

We do not sell or rent personally identifiable information. We may share aggregated, anonymized usage data with third parties. The app relies on the following third-party services:

Favorites and settings are retained on your device until you remove them or uninstall the app. We may cache LTA API responses temporarily to reduce network usage; cached data is deleted periodically.

5. Security

We take reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect information against unauthorized access, alteration, disclosure, or destruction. However no method of transmission or storage is 100% secure.

6. Your Choices

  • Location permission: You can revoke location permission in your device settings; the app will then be unable to show nearby stops.
  • Ad personalization: Control ad personalization via your Google account and device advertising settings.
  • Clear data: To remove favorites, clear the app data or uninstall the app.

7. Children

The app is not intended for children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect information from children under 13.

8. Changes to This Policy

We may update this policy occasionally. If we make material changes, we will update the “Effective Date” above and notify users via an in-app notice where appropriate.
